Greenwood, Nicholas - Cold Cuts CD

"An album that grows in intensity as it moves along ... Cool stuff, definitely one of the better prog obscurities."-Galactic Ramble

A real obscure & big dollar rarity reissued. Although I always hear this referred to as a Canterbury style album, and while there are definitely some influences of that for sure, you can also hear a real psychedelic feel too, which makes sense, as Greenwood had previously played in The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. as well as Khan. Note the inclusion of Eric Peachey (also from Khan) as well as Bunk Gardner!

"About the rarest UK album on a major label. It is quite good, too. Housed in a suitably disgusting cover, the music is organ-based, not unlike a mixture of Arthur Brown and Norman Haines and strongly progressive in approach. Especially interesting: the extended track, A Sea Of Holy Pleasure and the aptly titled Melancholy, both with inventive organ parts. This is also heinously rare. A dense and hard to penetrate effort."-Tapestry Of Delights.

"Brilliant solo album from the former Crazy World of Arthur Brown bassist is one of the supreme rarities from the UK. Originally released in 1972 on Kingdom (and Vogue in France) it's always been a tough album to find. Greenwood enlisted Bunk Gardner from the Mothers Of Invention and Eric Peachey from Khan as well as a load of other session guys and came up with a great album that fits right into the Canterbury canon. Keyboardist Dick Heninghem's frantic organ work reminds you instantly of Dave Stewart or Keith Emerson but with Gardner's flute it's all embellished with a style reminiscent of Caravan. So think Egg fronted by Jimmy Hastings as a reference. A real gem and easily gets my highest recommendation."-Ken Golden
