“I stumbled across Jambinai in the 2014 SXSW lineup, unfortunately my knowledge of the band doesn't extend beyond the fact that they're Korean and they rock!
The traditional Korean string instruments are incredibly versatile in this post-rock/metal album, ranging my delicate, minimalistic ethereal moments to sonic assaults when they are crunched through distortion pedals.
It is worth listening to the album as a whole, and has been on heavy rotation since I picked it up. Reminds me a lot of Altan Urag, the Mongolian folk metal band. I really love hearing unique, traditional folk instruments utilized in a completely different way. Hope they get more recognition in the US from SXSW!”
