Hiro Kawahara (guitar, keyboards and electronics)
Since the early 80s, guitarist / electronics man Hiro has been releasing electronic soundscapes under the name Heretic which are influenced by Peter Frohmader, Richard Pinhas / Heldon, Manuel Göttsching among others.
He was one of the earlier, non-new age, Japanese electronic explorers.
Due to age and ill-health, Hiro has decided that Be Here Now will be the final work by Heretic that he will create and has sold his instruments and retired from music.
“There are sound effects, electronic weirdness, yet there is always the feeling of direction as opposed to meandering, creating something which is dynamic and forceful. Given his health I totally understand why Hiro has decided this will be his final album, but of this indeed proves to be the case he has gone out on a high note as this is truly exceptional. For all fans of electronic progressive rock.” - Kev Roland / progarchives
