In the early 80s, Jean-Paul Prat released a quite great big band Zeuhl album (14 players)! It was released under his name and the album was called ‘Masal’.
In 2009, after over 25 years of silence, he re-emerged using the band name “Masal” for the projects he was putting together for himself and his son.
This is the fourth and latest from him and crew. Note the inclusion of the great Philippe Bussonnet, formerly of Magma, here.
This is not particularly ‘zeuhl’; what it is is well composed and well played medium sized electric / jazz-rock band compositions (and the bassoonist kills!). Recommended.
