“A project by composer/recordist Les Penning, who showed off his impressive sound on Mike Oldfield's 1975 album "OMMADAWN" and the 1977 unreleased single "Cuckoo Song," and Rob Reed (keyboards), leader of one of the most representative British melodic/symphonic Rock bands, Magenta, has released a 5-track EP in 2020 on a single-sleeve CD!
This EP includes a total of five songs, including a cover of Jack Trombey's 'Eye Level', the theme song for the British TV drama Van der Valk, and 'Ommadawn 45', a newly arranged version to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the release of 'OMMADAWN', as well as 'Variation On A Hergest Ridge Theme' and two original songs.
As with their previous collaborations, the acoustic style is reminiscent of early Mike Oldfield works, and the unadorned performance of the two musicians exudes a British flavor, making this a must-have for fans!”
