“The debut album of Geman progressive rock band Streetmark from 1976 digitally remastered on CD. Produced by producer legend Conny Plank the young band proved even then how progressive rock music can be combined with classical music and how it can be interpreted in an exciting way. This made Streetmark one of the most famous so-called "Krautrock" bands in the 1970s.
The production of "Nordland" was then implemented with Conny Plank in his recording studio in Neunkirchen. With the newly founded Hamburg record label "Sky Records" by Günter Körber, Nordland was their third publication. By the way, STREETMARK remained loyal to the record label Sky Records with the further releases!
The cover of "Nordland" is special. The band has always had a special relationship with the North. So it is not surprising that this preference is also reflected in the songs. The title "Amleth Saga" tells the story of Hamlet, a young prince in Denmark. The ghost of his dead father tells him to take revenge on his brother, who had previously murdered his own father. In the artist Helga Bartkowiak, Günter Körber found a woman who was able to capture the events in a wonderful image: the pale light of a setting northern sun that flows into a glacier and a dragon with its gloomy expression for the drama of the story... successful attempt to capture music in a picture!”
