“Paris born, Los Angeles based composer Daniel Wohl is respected for his ingenuity in blending electronics with acoustic instrumentation. And he has stated, “While being fascinated with classically notated acoustic composition I also became interested in all the music production tools currently available and was drawn towards combining both methods. I wanted to get as deep as I could into the production of sound.”
His skills are found in his ballet scores, orchestral and chamber works, and for film and television. And such ensembles as the LA Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, and Chicago Symphony among others perform his music widely. Noting the instrumentation used helps to appreciate the complexity of this music – strings, percussion, piano, synthesizer, clarinet, flute, and vocals.
