New Orleans’ jazz/rock legends Woodenhead have been going for 50 years! While the personnel shifted a little bit in the earlier years, the most recent recruit joined nearly 30 years ago!
I had the great pleasure of seeing them at their 50th anniversary show at ProgDay (after seeing them nearly 25 years ago) and they retain their old school charm, especially guitarist/leader Jimmy Robinson, who has the most simple set up (guitar/amp/maybe 1 pedal?) and the most beautiful tone. They serve up their classic-sound fusionwith a bit of New Orleans gumbo in the POCKET.
