The long awaited second album by this California spacerock/progressive rock band. What I really like about this is the blend of propulsive Hawkwind drive, the psychedelic exploratory feel and the progressive rock-isms. The band is:
Conor Riley - mellotron, arp odyssey, organ, guitar, vocals
Brian Ellis - guitar, moog, vocals
Richard Vaughan - guitar, mellotron, echoplex, vocals
David Hurley - drums, percussion, flute, various noisemakers
Stuart Sclater - bass
So, the sound is well-rooted in classic sounds, but of course, an ARP Odyssey will only get you so far if you can't back it up. Like I said, you get Hawkwind, some Floyd, some Van der Graaf Generator as well as more obscure spacerock/progressive and also a lot of Astra. This second one tops their already quite excellent 1st one.
