Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band - Live 1966-67 vinyl lp (due to size and weight, this price for the USA only. Outside of the USA, the price will be adjusted as needed)
This bootleg is simultaneously much more and much less than it appears to be.
First the good news: The opening 9 tracks are from the Avalon Ballroon, 1966. 4 of these tracks: Tupelo, Somebody In My Home, Evil, Old Folk's Boogie all appeared on the now out of print, incredible Revenant set, Grow Fins, but the other 5 tracks have long been known to exist, but have never been seen or heard before: Down In The Bottom, Don't Start Me To Talkin', The Sun Is Shinin', St. James Infirmary, Harp instrumental. The sound quality is really great for the time period and this is where you can hear just how much Don took from the blues and from Howlin' Wolf specifically.
The other 9 tracks, listed here as "radio station 1967", and a quick listen tells me that they all seem to be the '65-'66 era demos by the Magic Band that previously appeared on Grow Fins, and all in lesser quality, but still listenable. SO: You have Grow Fins, there's some 20' you have never heard. You don't have Grow Fins and it's all very interesting and worth acquiring at this price, since the big set will cost you mucho dinero these days...
