Something like this comes along so rarely that it is worth remarking on. While the packaging apparently can't be bothered to list everyone's name (shame! shame!) and I have never heard of any of the main folks who are mentioned, this is an excellent live recording of an amazing, huge, UK 30 piece (!) big band who combine elements of jazz & rock and really just amaze here on their debut album! Excellent arrangements, great heads, fine soloing. Jeezus. It's all here. Highly recommended if you wish that there were an updating of seminal large-scale works like "A Kaleidoscope of Rainbows" or "The Only Chrome Waterfall Orchestra" or even if you don't know those works and this just sounds really good to you.
