The homonymous debut of La Maschera di Cera, dated 2002, obtained excellent and unanimous acclaim at the time, and was hailed as the best Italian prog album since the legendary debut of Alphataurus: four long songs in perfect prog tradition, including the long title track stands out, which would take up an entire hypothetical first side of a vinyl record. Acoustic guitars and an incessant carpet of vintage keyboards dominate the scene, but there is no shortage of hard-prog moments and long instrumental parentheses, still capable of arousing strong emotions today.
