"Progressive fusion drum wizard Martin Maheux launched his latest MM Circle CD. Entitled "Sibylle", combines elements of jazz fusion, chamber music, progressive and features a jazz quartet and a string quartet with two cellos. The Martin Maheux Circle is composed of David Carbonneau on the trumpet, Éric St-Jean on the piano, Frédéric Grenier on the double bass, Martine Gaumond on violin, Sarah Ouellet on the alto, Sophie Coderre and Catherine Lesaulnier on the cello and Martin Maheux on drums. Eight musicians displayed their skills on this record that features a jazz quartet and a string quartet with two cellos. This innovative fusion is the result of Martin's attraction to certain chamber music composers and his ever growing love for jazz. Ideas for his 3rd album are already flowing and they are of a style that remains just as unconventional."
