Mucchio - Il Mucchio vinyl lp (due to size and weight, this price for the USA only. Outside of the USA, the price will be adjusted as needed)

A quintet of vocals, organ, guitar, bass & drums, who released this, their one & only album in 1970. This reissue includes 4 bonus tracks that were singles. While very vocally oriented there's lots of keyboard-led instrumental passages. The sound is similar - even if the music is different - to other early bands making the transition from "psychedelic rock " to "progressive rock", such as Procol Harum, Traffic, Spring, etc. If you enjoy that sound, you will definitely enjoy this little known album.

"A five-piece from Venice, Il Mucchio were active from 1970 to 1974, releasing an album and three singles. Drummer Rebeschini had been in the first Le Orme line-up. The group were produced and followed by a popular 60's singer, Pino Donaggio, who composed almost all their repertoire. The album, eight tracks for around 34 minutes, contains lightweight progressive, mainly based on a thin organ and a very melodic singing that give the sound a strong sixties flavour. A reworking of Schubert's Ave Maria was also included "
