Nine Days' Wonder - The Best Years Of Our Life?

SKU 18-GOD 057
A collection of rehearsal tapes, live tapes and outtakes by this German band, from 1971-1975. Over 35' comes from 1971-1972, the time of their 1st album and their best period, but there also includes some work from the time of their 3rd album, Only The Dancers, when David Jackson of Van der Graaf Generator, joined them on their album.

"Nine Days’ Wonder, living in a Mannheim community, recorded four LPs on the Bacillus label between 1971 and 1976. Their music is characterised by permanent rhythm changes and breaks, giving the impression of a very restless and nervous mood, definitely influenced by bands such as Mothers of Invention, King Crimson, VDGG, Soft Machine, Supersister, Moving Gelatine Plates and by free jazz. Their first recording effort, originally released in the famous green foam cover, was highly acclaimed. Towards the end, after many changes in their line-up, they produced mainly mainstream music. "The best years of our life?" partly contains unreleased tracks, partly released efforts but in different versions. Walter Seyffer, founder and most important member of the band, explains every detail of their history in the 32-page colour booklet."
