Shingetsu - Live July 25th-26th, 1979, ABC Kaikan Hall, Tokyo

SKU 01-MUSEA4571
Before the advent of the Japanese school of progressive rock music during the Eighties, represented by Gerard, Outer Limits and Pageant, among others, a certain number of local bands of great interest were already active. Amongst them, the name of Shingetsu was on the top of the list. They were the most imaginative counterpart of European progressive music in Japan at the time. Led by the majestic voice of the charismatic singer Makoto Kitiyama, their music was filled with a level of sophistication and virtuosity not so common at this time, as well as great Mellotron parts. Let's also notice an unique sense of theatrality, at the crossroads between traditional Japanese influences and scenical innovations ala Genesis. Published as a joint-venture between Musea and Poseidon Records, Live 25-26 July 1979, ABC Kaikan Hall Tokyo" allows the listener to discover the group on stage, a month after the release of their self-titled first album."
