Second release from this large Belgian band, who grew out of folk music origins into into something closer to avant/avant-progressive rock, but whose folk roots definitely show through strongly in a number of good ways here. The group consists of:
Humble Gabor (guitar, vocals), Jouni Isoherranen (bass, vocals), Jonathan Callens (drums), Pedro Guridi (clarinet, whistle), Pol Mareen (alto saxophone), Joren Cauters (vibraphone), Megan Quill (vocals), Liesbeth Verlaet (vocals).
"Humble Grumble is a surprising Belgian band who has built an original sound mixing skilfully and effectively a number of genre – rock, jazz, folk, prog. They follow the great tradition of Belgian alternative bands as X-Legged Sally, Fukkeduk, Think of One… In their unique style you can easily find complex structures, rhythm intricacies together with an expressely melodic vein. Last but not least, Humble Grumble displays an inexhaustible ironical attitude, mainly referring to Frank Zappa’s style.
With “Guzzle it up” they follow their path increasing the quality of the music in every aspects, skill, melodies, inspiration…A tangible sign of maturity and quality for one of the most original ensemble of the last years
