Offering this release out gives me a bit of a thrill because I had the very great pleasure of seeing this dual guitar/bass/drums outfit open for Guapo at Les Tritonales last July. I didn't know anything about them at the time, but I was quite impressed by these young guys who rocked hard but also rocked intelligently. Live, they reminded me a little bit of Pataphonie, but this record really moves beyond any influences that I can easily identify and just use texture, dynamics, interesting rhythmic variations and more to create a postrock/ progressive sound.
