Fabio Zuffanti is nothing if not a chameleon. Best known for his activities in a number of Italian progressive bands (Finisterre, Maschera di Cera), he has also tried his hand at folkier sounds, rock opera and electronic music. This particular project involves Zuffanti with many of his usual cohorts, this time exploring drones, beeps, blips and atmospheric landscapes. The four tracks plays more or less as one continuous piece. Lots of looping and distortion create a post-rock atmosphere, but one that is enhanced by knowledge of other musical elements...Not easily categorized, I would probably put it on the electronica-tinged side of post-rock, informed by 20th Century classical music, although the presence of retro instruments like (mellotron) give it a unique flavor on top of what was just written...One of the year's obligatory releases.-Sean McFee/Expose
