Association P.C. - Mama Kuku CD (24 bit remastered/mini-lp sleeve)

SKU 21-SPV441002
While it's pretty certain that Miles kick started the whole electric jazz-jazz/rock movement with In A Silent Way and Bitches Brew in 1969, there were other people working towards the same goals at aproximately the same time, some of them better known (Soft Machine) and some of them not so well known or mostly forgotten. Unfortunately the Dutch/German band Association P.C. falls into this category. They started in 1970 or possibly earlier and played in Europe constantly. This is the final of their five albums and the first one to ever be reissued on CD. It is a live recording with guest flautist Jeremy Steig and the band includes leader Pierre Courbois-drums, the under-rated, John McLaughlin-influenced guitar of Toto Blanke, Joachim Kuhn-piano and Siggi Busch-bass. Not my favorite of their albums, but still very good.

I really enjoy this. I bought this on a whim just based on the above description. Trippy, mostly improvised, jazz fusion with some telepathic interplay between flute and keys. If this is considered far from their best, I can't wait until the rest are (hopefully) released.
