Brast Burn - Debon CD

SKU 05--PHOENIX3021
"Phoenix Records reissues Brast Burn's Debon -- a classic of Japanese Kraut obscurity originally released in 1975 on Voice Records, now digitally-remastered. Brast Burn are often linked with Karuna Khayal, with many aficionados concluding that they were actually the same band. Whether this is true or not remains an unsolved mystery, but one thing is for sure: Brast Burn's one and only recorded outing left an indelible stamp on those who were to follow. Nurse With Wound's Steve Stapleton thought highly of Debon and included it on his "legendary list" that appeared on the sleeve of his band's 1979 debut album. Featuring orchestrated fuzz guitar, echo-drenched percussion, reverbed bass, zithers, assorted taped sounds and vocals that are simply inspired, Debon is an album that's a must for headphones and for devotees of the likes of Faust and Can. A rare musical experience and a vital addition to any record collection. Housed in a unique, LP-replica card wallet, in a numbered limited edition of 1,000 copies only."
"One of the great lost Krautrock albums of the 1970s -- by a Japanese group ... This is a must for headphones, it's like there was a bunch of seasoned stoners on an expedition along the vast ice carpets in the tundra, consigned to being totally lost but evoking their gods through herbs and music."-Jim Tones, Head Heritage

A totally brain smashing album,...not too unlike what the early Residents may have sounded like if they jammed with the early Red Crayola(IA era)!! Some of this sounds like location recordings from some lost continent, with chants that sound like your brain is channeling Radio Cambodia with Luc Ferrari on the mix-board. Just perfectly lost/insane stuff. Incredible!
