Gentle Giant - Interview CD + 5.1 / hi-res Blu-ray (Steven Wilson re-mix)

SKU 28- ALCD72.2
After In A Glass House, Giant and their record label made a concerted effort to 'break the band' in the USA, and the band toured here constantly. Signing with Capitol, they released 3 great studio albums that gave the band a slightly more rockified and accessible face, without losing a whit of the complexity of their earlier work.
Interview was their ninth album and was the last one of that trio (a live album separated it from the other two) and it is one of many extremely fine works in their catalog. It rocks like hell and incredibly cleverly too!
It's their last consistently great album, and it includes the funniest and most rhythmically complex 'reggae' song you will ever hear. Highly recommended.

““Award winning producer and musician Steven Wilson has remixed "Interview" in Dolby Atmos and 5. 1 surround sound. Wilsons attention to detail and deep respect for the source material makes the album sound as fresh today as it did on first release. In addition, the original flat mix, original 1976 quad mix and an instrumental mix will all be included on a CD/Blu-ray.”

This was the last great album by the Giants I think, before their long slow descent into 4/4 meter and other lame bids for marketplace recognition. As the liner notes told, they toured like motherfuckers all through '76 with no time for writing new material, so what we have here are bits and pieces of previous songs. "Give It Back" is the exception; truly a gem.
