SKU SLAM325
George Haslam-baritone sax, tarogato, Stefano Pastor-violin, Steve Kershaw-double bass, Paul Hession-drums.

"September, 2006; it was Stefano Pastor’s first visit to England, he came primarily to play in the Oxford Jazz Masters Series concert at the Holywell Music Room, Oxford. The concert, with Harry Beckett, George Haslam, Richard Leigh Harris and Steve Kershaw was a great success, fortunately recorded and subsequently released on SLAMCD 324 “Holywell Suite”. The following day Stefano went into the studio with Haslam, Kershaw and drummer Paul Hession, a session which resulted in this CD. The tracks include a Haslam composition – ‘Marianao’, named after a district of Havana – and a Pastor composition – ‘Abingdon’, named after a town in England. The other three tracks – ‘Hemera’, ‘Epiphany’ and ‘Hespera’ – are three improvisations under the collective title ‘Helios Suite’. The CD was mixed, mastered and designed in Italy by Stefano who also wrote the accompanying poem."
