One of the very last shows I saw before COVID lockdown was this excellent group of free jazz + electronics + poetry / spoken word, led by Camae Ayewa (Moor Mother).
This group features great playing from the traditional ‘free jazz quartet’ and references creative music from the 60s to today.

“Poet and noise musician Moor Mother presents her first theatrical work, a futuristic exploration—part musical, part choreopoem, part play—of public/private ownership, housing, and technology set in a living room in a corporate-owned apartment complex. Framed by Moor mother’s bold poetry performed live by Steve Montenegro, Luke Stewart, Keir Neuringer, Tchese Holmes, Aquiles, Madam Data and Elon Battle, Circuit City is an afrofuturist song cycle for our current climate.”
