After Discipline imploded arund 1999, their leader, Matthew, started doing solo gigs of just piano and vocals. They were good, but I really missed the band. Luckily this, his first post-Discipline album features him playing all the instruments (lots of piano, organ, mellotron, keyboards, guitar and drums!) in addition to the vocals. Also featured is the bass work of Matthew Kennedy, the bassist of Discipline. Parmenter turns in a credible performance on all the instruments - even drums! - and, while this didn't blow my brains out like "Unfolded Like Staircase", it's still really good, lyrically dark music; almost like demos for Discipline....well, I can hope, can't I?
