Mini-LP sleeve CDs

Mini-lp sleeve reissue of this 1973 album, about which Scented Gardens of the Mind said, "If one masterpiece should be singled out as the jewel of Italian rock, my vote would go to De De Lind's one and only album..."

"This album is an excellent..

"In its short life, London's Café Oto has played host to more than its share of memorable gigs by such improvisers as John Tchicai, Marshall Allen and Evan Parker, but surely none more remarkable than the December 2009 meeting of the veteran American...

"Delirium came from Genova, from a previous beat band called I Sagittari, and formed in 1970, releasing their first single a year later. Canto di Osanna, presented at first Viareggio pop festival was a successful single and gave the band an immediate...

"Third album released in 1974, called Delirium III (Viaggio negli arcipelaghi del tempo) and judged by many as their most mature work. La battaglia degli eterni piani contains a dark-inspired atmosphere not heard in their previous releases, the flute...

"After their first album, Dolce Acqua, from 1971 and their memorable TV presence at Sanremo music festival given around mid-1972, Ivano Fossati suddenly had to leave Delirium for his military service, later to pursue a solo career that's still...

Dice were a Swedish progressive band of the mid/late 1970's whose only album (this) was reissued in Japan on CD to great acclaim in the late 1980's, setting off an explosion of interest that the band never enjoyed during their lifetime. After being out...

An unbelievable price on the hard to find Japanese version of this great album!

"This cd is the second of three that chronicles Eric Dolphy's legendary concert recorded in 1961 at New york's Five Spot cafe. Dolphy' clarinet and flute lead Mal...

This is a new copy, however the sleeve has some dents and creases.

An amazing, newly lowered price on perfect copies of the Japanese mini-lp sleeve version of this classic fusion album, which is sadly completely and utterly out of print in every part of the world.

All good things must come to an end, and...

An amazing price on perfect copies of the Japanese mini-lp sleeve version of this classic fusion album. This album is not in print that I know of any other way. This was their fifth and last completely fantastic from start to finish album; they...

Sleeve is creased so we knocked a few bucks off the price of this copy.

Almost all instrumental music performed on electric and acoustic guitars, tenor sax and flute, bass and drums, with guest keyboardist Gian Piero Reverberi added on half of this 1973 album! Nice to have this available again, after many years of being...

Beautiful, mini-lp sleeve remaster of this classic Mexican psychedelic release.

"Also known as "Lost in My World": the "must have" debut album (1971) from psychedelic guru Armando Nava and his band, recorded after their failed trip to NYC did...

Beautiful, mini-lp sleeve remaster of this classic Mexican psychedelic release.

"Classic second album (1972) from psychedelic guru Armando Nava and his band is in Spanish this time, as all other Mexican bands were by now singing in English....

There are a lot of good titles in this batch of MPS reissues, but if you are keeping track, for me, this was the ONE. George was a straight-forward young jazzer who recorded for the Pacific Jazz label. His albums for them were perfectly decent and very...

A real rarity reissued, Dün's one & only album is a blend of Zeuhl and French progressive rock with Zappa-ish influences. All instrumental, performed on piano/synths, guitars, flute, bass, drums & percussion (+ sax on the bonus tracks).
Originally recorded at Sunrise studio by Etienne Conod in 1981, the four original tracks on the album has been augmented by earlier, quite different recordings of 3 of these 4, as well as a previously unheard composition.

"As a symphonic album of such high...

Very nice, pastoral Italian progressive rock with elements of The Geese and The Ghost (as it says below) but also Italian releases like Celeste! John Hackett is a featured player here!

"Ellesmere is the brainchild of Roberto Vitelli, bass & guitar player from Italian prog band Taproban. As opposite to the bombastic sound of the band, with Ellesmere Vitelli focuses on an acoustic and yet symphonic approach, delivering a stunning 40 minutes suite much in the style of early Genesis and Anthony...

"Jazz has often been a close partner with poetry. One of the most astonishing experiments happened in 1973 when composer Don Ellis made his dream come true on the MPS label, combining big band orchestration with Japanese Haikus. It sounds very...

Eloiteron were a 'one and done' symphonic rock sextet from Switzerland, who released this, their only album, in 1981.

The band consisted of two keyboardists on a number of instruments: grand piano, mellotron, organ, synthesizer, electric piano,

The next to last studio album in the initial burst of activity from this truly seminal classical rock trio, this was always their best sounding album and presents Eddie Offord's best-ever work sonically.

This is their fourth album and came out...

Great price on this mini-lp sleeve, SHM remaster from Japan of the very first album by ELP, from 1970, and a charming period piece of classical rock. Keith is mostly playing piano and organ here, with just a little bit of synths. Two bonus tracks from their Isle of Wight show. A no brainer.

"Originally released in 1970, the debut album from the newly formed supergroup combined musicianship and showmanship in a glowing ball of energy. The keyboard-dominated instrumentals and romantic ballads...

After touring the world constantly and releasing 6 albums in something like 4 years, ELP were one of the very biggest bands in the world and took a break.

When they came back with this album 3 years later, in 1977, the world was a very...

This 1972 album by this Italian quintet (vocals, dual guitars, flute, organ/mini moog, bass & drums) was supposed to be released on the legendary Trident label, but for some reason it never came out until the 1990s! The band obviously were big fans of...

ERA is the duo of Akihisa Tsuboy of KBB and Pochakaite Malko (electric and acoustic violin) and Natsuki Kido of Korekyojinn and Bondage Fruit. The music is playful and intense by turns (although intense in a mostly acoustic way).

“The Genoese band Eris Pluvia contributed in 1991, with the debut album "Rings of Earthly Light", to the rebirth of the Italian progressive rock scene; a record to be counted without much hesitation among the classics of that era, which unfortunately did not have any follow-up until the recent "Third Eye Light" in 2010.
"Different Earths" comes then six years after its predecessor, renewing its formula and giving us a band still inspired, that prefers, to the display of instrumental technique typical..

An unbelievable price on the hard to find Japanese version of this great album!

To be fair, we must mention that these copies have a VERY MINOR cut on the side.

"The Song Book" was Booker Ervin's answer to the "Ballads" album

"Founded in Perugia in 1975, L’Estate di San Martino is a band who, as many others in the Italian prog scene, only recently had the opportunity to release some records and play live with a certain regularity. The group is now celebrating their 40th...

"L’Estate di San Martino is finally back with a marvellous third album, which is usually defined as the ‘maturity’ one for a band. This particular ensemble was actually founded in 1975 in Perugia, Italy, but only able to release a 7_ single in 1978 before disappearing. Only in 1983 they started to play live again, and one of those live performances was released in 2006 as “Alder”.
Now, five years after “Febo” (2007), “Talsete di Marsantino” is finally available: an almost completely instrumental...

Now out of print in CD physical form world-wide, except for this beautiful, mini-lp sleeve replica.
This reissues the Etron's 1st album, from early 1977. This is certainly their most dada/out album, and I have a real soft spot for it in my heart, but I wouldn't recommend you start here unless your interest is more in general French craziness than in the superb musicality that came later.

Now out of print in CD physical form world-wide, except for this beautiful, mini-lp sleeve replica.
Etron Fou were one of the premier French avant/progressive bands from 1977-1986, & a founding member of R.I.O. This documents their '79 US tour, which I was lucky enough to see.
Excellent performances, good sound & the last time the band were a bass/sax/drums trio (as keyboardist Jo joined soon thereafter). Includes two bonus tracks. A must-own & highly recommended.

This is the band's 1976 second album. The line-up is electric piano/synths/organ, guitar, bass & drums lineup. This holds up extremely well - the playing is quite hot & feverish & is definitely comparable to some of the better bits of Finch....

2005 release by this good, modern, symphonic rock band, which comes in a beautiful mini-lp sleeve with a nice booklet of lyrics and illustrations. "In ancient times, the word finisterre evoked curiousity ventured beyond known boundaries. By choosing it...

A friend and collaborator of Samla Mammas Manna/Zamla Mammaz Manna, this is G.A.'s second album. Bildcirkus has 'contributions' from Coste Apetrea and Hasse Brunnesson.

2005 mini-lp sleeve reissue of this 1972 album. The 2nd album by the same four musicians who also released albums under the names Flea On The Honey and Etna. "...a classic album for guitar lovers, which showcased some really excellent musicianship. The...

Packaged in a beautiful mini-lp sleeve! "With (appropriate) extra tracks on each (all previously released somewhere, so no need to buy this just to have some unreleased song."

"Fred’s third LP for the US label Ralph Records, back in 1983, was a collection of gloriously direct pop songs, recorded on a four-track home studio system. Fred played almost all of the instruments: guitar, six string bass, Casio 101 keyboard, violin, xylophone, and home mades. There are some great production ideas, with...

Gravity is one of Fred's most enduring & endearing works. It was his first post-Henry Cow solo album, and he recorded it with the backing of The Muffins on one side of the original album and Samla Mammas Manna on the other. It's the closest thing to a progressive rock disc that Fred has ever released and it's a tuneful yet...

"Hailed by fans and critics as a symphonic gem, the project of keyboard player and vocalist Angelo Santo Lombardi has taken the world of Italian prog by storm, adding influences of Italian prog giants as Banco, PFM and Orme with the keyboard wizardry of Keith Emerson.

Ritratto di Ballerina is the logic follow-up to its predecessor, while being more complex, compact and with a slightly harder edge. Quality standards remain unchanged, while the...

A 70s Italian record that is as famous for its beautiful triple-fold gatefold cover (by well known Italian illustrator Guido Crepax) as it is for the music inside! 'Bambi' Fossati, a Hendrix-influenced guitarist, formed Gleemen in the 60's. They...

Out of print now world-wide , but we found a couple of copies of this Japanese, mini-lp sleeve version in a warehouse and it's here until they are truly gone forever!

An early 80's release by this keyboardist who rightly made a name for himself playing with Magma, Heldon & Weidorje! This crosses the sound of Magma & Heldon.

Players include Richard Pinhas, David Rose, Bernard Paganotti, Christian Vander, Didier Batard, Jean-Pierre Fouquey & more!

"Drummer from Calabria, Roberto Genco recorded and privately released his only album, Beyond the life (Oltre la vita) in 1977.
With an excellent technical and recording quality, considering it's a private production, the LP is in the jazz-rock style, and contains five long tracks with English lyrics, sung by Genco himself, helped from very good musicians like guitarist Giorgio Cocilovo and sax and flute player Hugo Heredia. A very nice record, sadly little known..."-Italianprog.com...

Lol Creme and Kevin Godley got their start with the classy and possibly 'too smart for their own good' pop band 10cc. Then, at the height of that band's fame, they split off on their own & made three fabulous and infamous releases, which mingled their...

"The measure of an artist's worth is his entire oeuvre, not simply a specific moment in time, a particular group or a single release. Still, while keyboardist Stu Goldberg never made the name for himself that he should have as a member of John...

"First CD compilation of recent seven-inch and twelve-inch records by the enigmatic Wendy Gondeln, mixing electronic music, sawed violin, and Martian intelligence into a thoroughly spicy and utterly confounding goulash. Featured collaborations include Tim Berrescheim, Norbert Möslang, JB Slik, Wolfgang Voigt, and Michael Wertmüller. Projections also includes some of the art installation projects for Albert Oehlen works of recent vintage, such as "Alarm," composed by Wertmüller, well known among other...

"Remastered & fully restored from the BYG master tapes. Lavish illustrated booklet reprints the original lp sleeve, inserts & lyrics."

This is where the seeds of Gongzilla were sown, as the band features: Bon Loazaga-guitar, Hansford Rowe-bass, François Causse-percussion and Pierre Moerlin on drums, with Mike Oldfield and Didier Malherbe also appearing in guest roles!
“By the late 1970s percussionist Pierre Moerlen had taken over the leadership of Gong and had steered the band away from psychedelic space rock and took the band into a jazz rock direction, one in which the band excelled. After recording several albums with...

"This band with a strange name and an unusual line-up is still less-known to many italian prog experts, yet their only album is surprisingly good and has very interesting moments. The weakest point is the singer's voice, squeaky and monotonous and with...
