Alchourron, Rodolfo - Talisman

SKU 13-VIAJEROINMOVIL013
Argentinian guitarist/composer Rodolfo studied with Argentinian masters, such as Ginastera, Baptist and others. He worked in the fusion and progressive field and even spent 10 years in New York with his band Southern Exposure. He returned to Buenos Aires and formed the band Talisman. This album was recorded in 1994, but never released until now. It features keyboards, bandoneon, reeds, bass, drums and female vocals, and features a real first class, South American progressive/fusion sound. Rodolfo died in 1999, and some of his fellow musicians who played here have arranged for this album to be released.

"Unreleased album by one of the most prestigious composers and arrangers of Argentine music as a whole. Rodolfo produces a very personal brand of Fusion, via the combination of Jazz, Rock and elements culled from our territory's Popular music, through pleasant and memorable melodies, complex arrangements and constant (yet many times totally unexpected) rhythm changes, which altogether provide an amazing concoction similar to the Canterbury sound from the '70's (Hatfield & The North) or certain passages which easily remind us of Frank Zappa."
