Rampolokeng, Lesego / Kalahari Surfers - End Beginnings CD (Mega Blowout Sale)
“Lesego Rampolokeng (born 7 July 1965) is a South African writer, playwright and performance poet. He came to prominence in the 1980s, a very turbulent time in South Africa. His poetry often criticises the establishment. His first instalment of poetry was Horns for Hondo (1991) and this was followed by End Beginnings (1993).
Lesego collaborates with musicians. He has performed in many countries and with musicians such as Julian Bahula, Soulemane Toure, Louis Mhlanga and Gunther 'Baby' Sommer.”

Hazama, Miho - Dancer In Nowhere
Miho is an amazing arranger and composer for big band, and this is her third release that features her ‘M-Unit’ band, which is a jazz big band with a string quartet in the middle!
“Tokyo born composer Miho Hazama is one of New York's most astounding young talents. Lauded in Downbeat as one of "25 for the Future", Miho is quickly establishing herself as a force of nature on the world's stage. As the 2015 recipient of the BMI Charlie Parker Composition Prize, Miho developed her signature ensemble...

Miyama, Toshiyuki / The New Herd-土の音 (Tsuchi no Ne) vinyl lp (due to size and weight, this price for the USA only. Outside of the USA, the price will be adjusted as needed)
Toshiyuki Miyama was a Japanese saxophonist who led a jazz big band on recordings and shows from 1950 into the early 2000s!
This 1973 work has never before been reissued on vinyl and it’s a very progressive work, described (admittedly by a rock listener) as “Big Band meets chamber prog, with a dash of early Magma but without the zeuhl. Not as fiery and over-bearing as the earlier New Herd albums, but in terms of emotional delivery, probably their best. It's easy to get pleasantly lost in both of....

"Unknown Norwegian guitarist, singer and songwriter, born as Ole Gunnar Nilssen, and a future member of Solaris. He released a nice album in 1976, “World of dreams”, the first ever release of the obscure Norwegian label Apollo, which it seems to have some links to his later band, as Jon Erik Henriksen was the lead guitarist of Solaris, while bassist Bjorn Henriksen produced the band's only album “Misty morning”. The list on the present album includes about 10 guest musicians, most of them with a jazz...

“Boris Kovacs was born in Vojvodina, the multi-ethnic region of what was then Yugoslavia. He studied accordion and saxophone, going on to teach himself many other instruments. On this record he plays mainly soprano saxophone, leaving Jasna Jovisevic to take alto and bassclarinet. Like pianist Slobodank Stevic, she was classically trained, as was bassist Sinisa Mazalica. The drummer, Boris' son Lav Kovac, is celebrated for his very different playing in Howling Owl and with a variety of eastern bands...

“Jac Berrocal is a 1946-born musician, poet and film actor who came of age in the '70s Paris improv scene, where the boundaries between music, art and theatre were porous and begging to be breached. Inspired by bebop, chanson, free jazz, beat poetry, early rock 'n roll and myriad Eastern influences, and with an iconoclastic, anything-goes approach to instrumentation and technique that would later align him with post-punk sensibilities, Berrocal blazed an eccentric and unstoppable trail across the

"Previously unreleased, the three tracks on Pays Noir come from recording sessions held at the same time as those for the cult album No Man's Land, produced by Jef Gilson in 1976, and published on vinyl by Souffle Continu Records in 2017.
Singled out at the time of its release by Actuel, Rock & Folk, and Melody Maker, the tabula rasa of No Man's Land is the result of free-flowing experiments born of chance, if the two musicians are to be believed. Indeed, their approach to free improvisation was...
