"On 30 November 2010 Steve Hackett and band returned to the Shepherds Bush Empire to resounding applause after many stops abroad with the "Around the World in Eighty Trains" tour. While snow fell outside in a London blizzard, within the atmosphere was...

Incredible price on this 3 disc set - I saw this tour and it was a slammin' show!

"At first glance I was not entirely convinced there was a genuine reason for this release, after all the guitar legend scooped Prog Magazine’s 2013 Progressive.

Steve Hackett's reputation was founded on his outstanding guitar playing with Genesis...here we present Steve in concert in Nottingham, UK, filmed in 1990 and performing a selection of his best known solo work.

This is over 100 minutes of an acoustic-based performance of Hackett in trio format: Steve Hackett-guitars, John Hackett-flute and Roger King-keybards. They perform classical pieces, pieces from Steve's solo albums and even touch on some Genesis material.

Steve Hackett's reputation was founded on his outstanding guitar playing with Genesis covering much of the 70's and encompassing Nursery Cryme through to Seconds Out. Having left the band in 1977, Steve build on the success of his earlier solo outing V...

Having left the band in 1977, Steve build on the success of his earlier solo outing Voyage Of The Acolyte with a series of critically acclaimed albums that spawned a large worldwide following. One hour and 45' of Hackett's late 90's visit to Buenos Aires. This has a good mixture of Steve's solo work from all stages of his career, as well as (SURPRISE!) a good dollop of Geneis material too. This is a quite similar set to his setlist in the US...

One of the most sought-after video artifacts of Steve's career is this broadcast from the Musikladen TV series in late 1978, now finally available as an All Region/NTSC disc. The DVD runs nearly an hour and a quarter and since this comes from the...

This features guitarist/vocalist Steve Hackett leading an all-star group of Julian Colbeck-keyboards and vocals, Ian McDonald-sax, flute, keyboards, guitar and vocals, John Wetton-bass and vocals and Chester Thompson-drums. Phew.
There are 17 tracks recorded live in Tokyo, Japan, December 16 & 17, 1996, including lots of work from Hackett's solo albums, Genesis pieces and King Crimson (where having Ian McDonald there is something pretty special). There's also 3 studio recordings that are here for no....

This is the first-ever DVD release of a title that came out legitimately on videotape in the early 1990s and cost a fortune; I remember staring at it at the record store ("record store?, what's that, grandpa?") and finally deciding I couldn't justify...

Caveat: READ THIS: If you google this title, you will see lots and lots of people talking about what a botch job it is, including someone who bought it from us for $6.00, didn't check it for 2 years and then wanted their money back (I said 'no').

I don't know if they fixed it or the reported problems are wrong, but the DVD played fine in my computer and the entire concert was there on the 2 CDs as well (although seemingly in the wrong order). AT THIS PRICE, HOWEVER, WE WON'T TAKE RETURNS...

Hammill's 6th album and I believe the first one released after the final dissolution of Van der Graaf. It is the closest thing to a 'concept' album I can think of by Peter, charting the decline and final dissolution (of course it is a sad story! it's a Peter Hammill album!) of a love affair.
When I was becoming a Hammill fanatic, this one was impossible to find; the only place it was in print (this is lp days, of course) was Israel, and with a lot of difficulty, I did finally procure myself a copy!...

Fabulous quality performance and visuals on this 1981 show by Peter and his main vehicle for live performance at this time, The K Group, with a great, great set list and nearly 1 3/4 hours playing time!!
Peter Hammill-vocals, keyboards, guitar
John Ellis-guitar, vocals
Nic Potter-bass
Guy Evans-drums

"When the K-GROUP went on the stage of the Hamburg Markthalle, they were very well rehearsed anyway; after all, they had been on tour for a while now. It is a stroke of good fortune

Filmed in Preston, UK during the band's Chaos Tour of 1986. "Hawkwind go full on psychedelic, performing bona-fide classics ripped from rock 'n' roll's underbelly. The stage show is a melting pot of audio-visual lunacy; 20 years does nothing to dilute ...

"The Experience DVD can be broken down into two sections. The first part is the half-hour documentary film Experience filmed in London 1967 (editor's note: this includes the famous footage of Jimi playing an acoustic guitar and playing the shit out of...

This is a nice documentary with some great footage included, but what you and I are really getting this for (at least *I* am) is the really high quality, never-before seen performances from Miami Pop Fest ('68) and New York Pop Fest ('70)...

This was one of the very first films released of a Jimi Hendrix concert, recorded at two shows from May 30, 1970 and it's been restored and expanded with more than 15 minutes. Still, it suffers from the technical limitations of the equipment of that time and also from the way people thought about presenting rock music at that time. Having said that, this is one of the finer shows of late period Jimi, doing songs from his upcoming "New Rising Sun" album, which, of course, he never lived to quite finish...

"This special edition DVD features all of the existing film footage from Jimi's incendiary June 18, 1967 concert newly transferred to high-definition specs form the original 16mm camera reversal original. Re-edited and presented in its original...

An amazing document, nearly all of it unreleased versions or rare takes or etc. Pricey and actually worth it. And the DVD documentary is pretty great too.

HOLY COW (sorry - couldn't resist). This is IT. Chris Cutler has been talking about a multi-volume set of Henry Cow material for some time and it has finally arrived and it is more than ANY fan could have hoped for. This covers the band's career from the pre-Virgin days up to the band's demise in 1978.
These are all previously unreleased recordings, some live, some demo, some studio, all sonically enhanced by Bob Drake's painstaking re-mastering. We are treated to everything from early BBC sessions...

Nearly 8 years after the big box set by Henry Cow was unleashed on the world, they’ve made the sets available individually!
This is a great run-through of basically the set I saw them do about 9 months later, in slightly shortened form and all the late period greats are here, performed live without an audience: Living In The Heart Of The Beast, Erk Gah, Beautiful As The Moon, No More Songs, etc.
This is taken from the original, high quality, television broadcast tapes that were stored for over...

One hour live at the Zelt-Musik Festival, Freiburg, Germany on May 31, 1986 by this great band: Dave Holland-bass, Steve Coleman-sax, Kenny Wheeler-trumpet, Robin Eubanks-trombone and Marvin Smith-drums.

Reunion show filmed in Ireland where they are revered as musical gods.

Much beloved Celtic progressive rock/progressive folk-rock band from Ireland, who didn't really ever catch on in the USA, but many of their albums were released here and they did have a very devoted fanbase. This is a small miracle for their fans:
