"You are staring at a piece of Finnish rock history. Originally released on Love Records, this classic record has been faithfully 24-bit mastered from the original tapes and is fully authorized."

"From Kangsala, Finland, Tabula Rasa was founded in 1972 by guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen, drummer Asko Pakkanen, and bass player Tapio Suominen. During the band's run, Mikko Alatalo played the Peter Sinfield role as contributing lyricist, and unofficial member. They are considered one of the top finish...

This is an extraordinary vault-find. These approximately 40' long sessions have never been released before, not even bootlegged, and were not even known to exist.
They are released as individual (and quite beautiful) lps and most importantly, every one of these is great! Even the artists I was completely unfamiliar with, are great. Hugely recommended.

They are released as individual (and quite beautiful) lps, but the CD versions pairs up two sympathetic sessions together on one disc!
And most importantly, every one of these is great! Even the artists I was completely unfamiliar with, are great. Hugely recommended.

Legitimate vinyl reissue of this rare and legendary album. TMT was led by Fluxus member Takehisa Kosugi (electric violin, harmonica, voice, etc.) with Kyo Koike (electric double bass), suntool, voice, etc.), Yukio Tsuchiya (bass-tuba, percussion), Beiji Nagai (trumpet, synthesizer Mini-Korg, timpani), Tokio Hasegaw (voice, percussion), Kinji Hayashi (electronic technique), Hirokeszu Sato (percussion, voice). Recorded live at Nippon Columbia Studio #1, Tokyo, August 19, 1974. Four side-long improvisations...

The Japanese producer and DJ Kuniyuki Takahashi is the subject of a retrospective compilation from Music From Memory titled Early Tape Works (1987-1993) Vol 1. Composed of two volumes, the compilations gather together a selection of tracks from a tiny run of privately released tape-only albums, highlighting a fascinating early period in Kuniyuki's musical output, one of which little is known about. After discovering the world of nightclubs in Japan around 1986, and the seemingly boundless freedom...

"Endgame Of The Anthropocene marks Talibam!'s return to ESP-Disk, a partnership that started in 2009 with the highly acclaimed Boogie In The Breeze Blocks album. Talibam! is a 14-year working unit based in New York City that can be described in various ways -- as a classic keyboards/drums expanded-jazz duo, as Dadaist provocateurs with an innate love for the history of music, as a Fluxus-informed theater troupe, as an electronic ensemble inspired by Stockhausen, or as a rhythm section at the cross hair...

"Talibam! delights in creating music that cannot be pinned down within the safe-spaces of existing genres. With each new album, Talibam! reinvent their methodological palette in order to bolster a fresh clarity of joyous auditory surprise, something their fans have come to depend on. Talibam! focus on compositional clarity, with reverence for their diverse interest in genre. On Hard Vibe, they push the pulse of motorik rhythm through a psychedelic jazz filter. This time out, they have created a sonic...

One of my favorite current prog bands, these guys seem to always deliver the goods. One of the reasons is the excellent performances, so it's nice to see such fine players as reed-player Theo Travis and Morgan Agren in the band this time around and...

I first heard The Tangent because they originally emerged with a bit of a Canterbury sound (something unusual in the early 2000s) and with former VDGG saxist David Jackson appearing all over their 1st album. Now, it's 8 years later and David and the....

"The Tangent return to the world this year with their first new music since 2015.
The Tangent, the progressive rock group led by Andy Tillison, have announced the release of the first new music since 2015. Their new ninth studio album ‘The Slow Rust of Forgotten Machinery’ is set for release on 21st July 2017. The line-up for this album once again features Tillison on keyboards, vocals (and for the first time on a Tangent record – drums), Jonas Reingold on bass, Luke Machin on guitars and vocals...

"2017 release from the electronic music pioneers. Tangerine Dream have been a fundamental influence on electronic and progressive music since their formation in West Berlin, 1967. Inspiring genres, musicians and other art forms, from The Future Sound of London to Porcupine Tree, the widely popular TV show Stranger Things (for which their music also featured in) to seminal video game Grand Theft Auto V (for which they helped to write the soundtrack).
The group have also received seven Grammy...

This 1975 album was their seventh release and was recorded live in the Autumn of 1975 in the UK and France. This was an impressive document of the fact that they could do it all live, which was no small feat.

Back in stock and at a greatly improved / reduced price! If you didn't snab this before, you should now!
This vinyl-only release is the first new music from this great, legendary psych band in a while. When Tangle Edge first emerged - seemingly out of nowhere - and, being located in the far northern reaches of Norway, inside the arctic circle, one could actually say from out of nowhere(!) - with their first album in 1988, they were seen as the band who would simultaneously save progressive rock and...

"Previously unreleased homemade recordings from 1971 by Barcelona’s hairiest power trio. Raw, in-your-face hard-rock and proto-metal plus some surprising psychedelic, Canterbury styled moves. Featuring the very first line-up of the band comprised of killer guitar player Miguel Ángel Núñez, the legendary Tapi (ex-Máquina!) on drums and Pepe Fernández on bass. Includes a cover of Black Sabbath's "Planet Caravan", a killer first version of "No Control" featuring Núñez on guitar (later recorded again for...

Second album and the most obscure release from this early Finnish progressive band. They combine very progressive and jazzy influences (they had a full time reed player) with early Traffic, as well as other rock influences. It was recorded in Stockholm...

John Taylor-Piano
Chris Lawrence-Bass
Tony Levin-Drums

A very nice, rather hip piano trio session from three Brit-jazz masters from MPS. It was recorded in 1972 and 1973 and released in 1973. This was John's second album, after the fantastic "Pause And Think Again".
There was one previous CD version, only in Japan, in 2006 but this is the first time it's ever been reissued on vinyl!

This is an album of Mike Taylor's music, but Mike Taylor doesn't appear on it because he had been dead for 5 years by the time of this previously unreleased Lansdowne recording by his friends who are paying tribute to him and his work here....

"An expanded reissue of Telaio Magnetico's Live 75, including unreleased tracks from the super group's only tour in 1975. Telaio Magnetico was composed of Franco Battiato, Lino Capra Vaccina, Juri Camisasca, Mino Di Martino, Roberto Mazza, and Terra Di Benedetto. In the mid '70s, the Italian underground scene seemed to mature an existential priority of yearning toward a new psychological universe, with a firm idea to colonize an uncharted space of a necessary and infinite path of spiritual redemption...

This is the third studio release from one of the best Rock Progressivo Italiano bands currently out there at this time and the band is made even better by having on board ace-drummer Mattias Olsson behind the kit!

"As the preceding album, also in this case the title is a word game. The union of latin verb "ludere", that means 'the act of playing', with the italian article "il" generates a dualism between "il giocare" (the act of playing) and the verb "illudere", that means 'to deceive' or...

Continuing with their reissue campaign of the Toby Robinson's Pyramid label catalog, Mental Experience now present Temple's self-titled release. Probably the most "rock" sounding of all the Pyramid titles, Temple were an ad-hoc outfit born out of several late-night sessions at Dierks Studios (where Toby was working at that time), involving local friends of Toby and other musicians from adjoining studios, among them Zeus B. Held...

"An ecology-inspired Krautrock album (1971) from a short-lived group comprised of German school-chums, some of whom had recorded an LP as Trikolon. Tetragon did not conform to any predetermined musical style: they played whatever they pleased, as long as it included groovy Hammond organ and very trippy, flanged wah-wah guitar, in various taut jamming modes that favored jazz/rock fusion à la Miles Davis with a small dose of classical music (adapting a Bach fugue along the way). The result is a bouquet of...

"Tetragon, successor of Trikolon, were founded in Osnabrck (Lower Saxony) in the spring of 1971. They released their first and only LP, Nature, in that very year. It came out as CD on Musea in 1995. At the end of 1971, Tetragon recorded in a Hamburg...

First full length release from this NJ based, modern 'progressive rock and more' septet. This is even better than their very good debut and features an even wider range of instrumental textures in support of the songs.

Their music is very...

This is the 2nd full length release from this NJ based, modern 'progressive rock and more' septet and their first since hooking up with the label of one of the members of Coheed and Cambria, bringing them to the attention of a wider audience.
Their music is very 'song' based, but features some great playing and tons of cool tricky instrumental bits both within and outside of the sung sections of the songs. Very modern, extremely well done and complex, yet oddly accessible. Hugely recommended and....

"The meeting of three expatriate Hungarian musicians who had been touring with the Hungarian Philharmonic when they jumped ship and stayed in Germany, with three German musicians. An appealing 1973-styled blend of progressive rock with classical, jazzy and folky influences. Lots of classical pretensions and influences, with lots of flute. Vocals, flute, guitars, violin/viola/piano/organ, bass and drums. They shortly afterwards went on to work with Louis Hardin aka Moondog (!), but there doesn't seem to...

First-ever legitimate lp reissue from mastertapes of Thirsty Moon's second album, originally released on Brain in 1973.

"Always essentially the project of the Drogies brothers, Thirsty Moon came into being in September 1971 as the amalgamation...

The second of only 3 releases in the band's lifetime, Health & Efficiency has one of the group's absolutely greatest works (maybe THE greatest) on side one and an experimental tape-work on side two that I force myself to listen to once every decade and always walk away from disappointed....

This Heat's amazingly good first album, first released in 1979, and consisting of several years worth of creative and hard work, distilled down into 40-some minutes of gripping music. At a time when, except for punk, there..

Excellent second album by this Australian post-punk ensemble! Originally self-released in 1984, A Beard Of Bees has been out of print for almost 25 years.

"In the fertile terrain of New Zealand’s 1980s post-punk scene, few figures loom as large as the Jefferies brothers. Graeme Jefferies and Peter Jefferies—the primary forces behind This Kind Of Punishment—wrote some of the best music to come out on Flying Nun, Xpressway or elsewhere. A dizzying mix of pastoral ballads and DIY experimentation...

Michel Portal (tenor sax)
Mimi Lorenzini (guitar)
Daniel Laloux (tambour)
Jacques Thollot (drums and tapes of recorded experiments)
"There are records that stimulate curiosity to the extreme, records that make you want to dissolve yourself into the intense and beautiful surprise this music will bring. It is undeniable to the delighted ear that this exhumed document contains all the assets of the historical output, of the record that one would dream of waiting for long if one had known it

"Produced in collaboration with the legendary Jac Berrocal's label d'Avantage, More Intra Musique is the second LP in Alga Marghen's series dedicated to previously unreleased recording by the drummer and experimentalist Jacques Thollot. While the furious Intra Musique free jazz first LP was centered on a live recording with Michel Portal, Eddie Gaumont, and Mimi Lorenzini at the Faculty of Law in Paris, on an evening in 1969, it is an unexpected Jacques Thollot that you encounter on this second LP...

Thor Harris was the percussionist for Swans for 6 years and since that time has released a couple of very good solo albums, of which this is the latest!

"The Subversive Nature of Kindness is the sophomore effort from Thor & Friends, the avant-chamber ensemble formed by its namesake, polymath percussionist Thor Harris. The album was recorded in Albuquerque, New Mexico, produced by Jeremy Barnes from A Hawk & A Hacksaw and engineered by Barnes and Deerhoof's John Dietrich. It is hoped that the...

Thor Harris has been the drummer for Swans for the last 5 years and this is influenced by minimalism and the avant-garde.

"Thor & Friends is the eponymous full length debut from the avant-chamber ensemble formed by polymath percussionist Thor Harris. It was recorded in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and produced by Jeremy Barnes and Heather Trost from A Hawk & A Hacksaw and Deerhoof's John Dieterich. The three core members of the band are Peggy Ghorbani on marimba, Sarah 'Goat' Gautier on marimba...

"A singular and rare neogothic concept album combining the sound of a grand pipe organ with the typical progressive rhythm section: The Legend of the Holy Circle is the second concept album from the italian band Three Monks after their debut album...

First-ever vinyl reissue, in a great, gatefold sleeve.

"Originally released in 1971 on Philips. This sole album of Hamburg's six piece is a crossover of progressive and jazz rock, notably with influences as wide-ranging as Blodwyn Pig (two covers as bonus tracks) and Curved Air. Long jammings by highly talented musicians, all blending into an unique sound with the distinct spirit of krautrock."

"From their first live performance in 1972, it was seven years before Tibet released their sole lp. By the time of their lp, they were a six piece: Klaus Werthmann (vocals), Deff Ballin (keyboards), Dieter Kumpakischkis (keyboards), Karl-Heinz Hamann...

"In retrospect, we might suspect that Asmus Tietchens was deliberately leading us up the garden path with the discordant pseudo-pop of his early musical productions. Four albums between 1981-1983 and a handful of individual pieces comprise the...

"Bureau B reissues Asmus Tietchens' third solo album on Sky Records, originally released in 1982. It stands to reason that any musical journey undertaken by a skeptic like Asmus Tietchens is destined to head into the night (In die Nacht) rather than...

"Released in 1983, the Litia album concluded Asmus Tietchens' tudes phase and bid a farewell to rhythmic synths -- well, almost. All the signs of "pseudo pop" as heard on Biotop, Spt-Europa, and In die Nacht resurfaced: squeaky sounds and protracted...

"While Asmus Tietchens planned to head off "into the future" ("In die Zukunft") with Biotop (1981), Spt-Europa witnesses his arrival. Released on Sky Records in 1982, the second album in the "Zeitzeichen" phase not only continued in the style of its...

Myra Melford-piano
Joelle Leandre-double bass
Nicole Mitchell-flute, alto flute, piccolo
"How fierce should a musical tiger trio be? The three produce unique, affirmative music that demands no qualifiers!"

"San Francisco, California's Tigon unleash a colossal set of splendid post-hardcore noise rock on their debut full length, Infinite Teeth. Driving, dynamic, and dissonant, this music is intelligent and challenging, bristling with swagger. Opting for...

Vinyl-only release with a lovely sleeve and a limited edition of only 300! Yes, you want this, if only to frame on your wall or clean your pot on!

"It all starts with a sound: the sound of a monophonic synth -- then we have the drums and what...

"Die Tödliche Doris's Wolfgang Müller and Chris Dreier revisit In der Pause from 1981. In der Pause ("During the Pause") was the title of the last track on the B side of " ", the first album by Die Tödliche Doris (1982). In der Pause was pause music, as well as the announcement of the interval between their debut album, released in 1982, and the box format project Chöre und Soli that followed in 1983. The original sounds of In der Pause survived on a single audio tape dating from 1981. Now, about 35...

This is the only surviving live document of Jukka Tolonen's mid 70s supergroup:
Jukka Tolonen-guitar
Pekka Pöyry-reeds
Esa Kotilainen-keyboards
Heikki Virtanen-bass
Esko Rosnell-drums
and has never before been released or heard since it's original broadcast over 40 years ago!

This was the fourth solo album by the great guitarist of Tasavallan Presidentti (and sometimes Wigwam, in their early days), playing a progressive rock tinged fusion or a fusion-centric progressive rock.
For Hysterica, Jukka enlisted the help of the great Pekka Pyry on alto & soprano sax and flute, Esa Kotilainen on organ, clavinet and synthesizers, Heikki Virtanen on bass and Esko Rosnell on drums and percussion; Pekke Pohjola plays bass on 1 track.
This is pretty great, classic mid 70's style.

This was Jukkas second solo album, and was recorded in late 1973, while he was still playing with Tasavallan Presidentti.
This is a quite lovely, summer sun-shine filled instrumental jazz/rock album with folk overtones!
Jukka performs on electric and acoustic guitars, acoustic piano, moog and tabla and heavy hitters from the Finnish jazz and electric jazz scene appear here.
