"Antworten (meaning: answer) is the third installment in a trilogy of Qluster music, following on from the Fragen (meaning: question) and Rufen (BB 075CD/LP) studio albums. The fact that the music on Antworten was created before Rufen and Fragen were...

"The third incarnation of the legendary krautrock project Kluster/Cluster expands its audience with the contemplative, mature, and intelligent electronic music of Echtzeit. Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Onnen Bock, and Armin Metz are Qluster, founded under the name of Kluster in 1969 by Roedelius, Dieter Moebius, and Conrad Schnitzler. Kluster were responsible for two milestones of electronic music. Schnitzler quit the band two years later, leaving Roedelius and Moebius to carry on as Cluster. When the duo....

"Kluster -- Cluster -- and now Qluster. Fragen documents the extraordinary shedding of skin of one of the most important German electronic groups. Hans-Joachim Roedelius was there from the beginning (1969), with Onnen Bock taking the place of Dieter...

"Kluster (1969) metamorphosed into Cluster (1971) and Cluster became Qluster (2011). In a period spanning over 40 years, Hans-Joachim Roedelius was a driving force behind this unique transformation. Now, as Qluster, he has recorded together with Onnen...

"The artists:
Hans-Joachim Roedelius (piano)
Onnen Bock (piano)
Armin Metz (piano)

The music: minimalist, spherical sounds by three grand pianos. Introverted, minimalist "classical" music has reached full bloom as devotees of the.

Fun, complex and effortless first release by this complex jazz/rock band from Brazil consisting of 2 electric guitars, electric bass and drums. They are mostly instrumental with some funny/weird/goofy vocals (including a vocal appearance from Arrigo Barnabe!).

Some of this is nearly 'normal', but most of it is unusual and pretty complex from just 2 guitars + rhythm section and well worth hearing if you want to keep abreast of the constant gusher of great music from Brazil.

Here are two...

No. 1, the material recorded by Sun Dial approximately between 1990-1997 under their alter-ego Quad has been among the most elusive prizes for fans of modern psychedelia, as it was issued many moons ago as an extremely limited transparent...

While they last, this is $7.00 off the regular price!

Written by Gilbert Artman (Lard Free, Urban Sax), Quad Sax is a miniature distillation of the ideas of Urban Sax; 4 saxophones playingspacey, hocket- riddled music with some percussives...

Ulrich Schnauss is a current member of Tangerine Dream!
"Synthwaves pays homage to the masters of the past, yet it feels fresh and enchanting. Crisp, interlocking patterns are modulated and mutated with mathematical precision into eight pieces of pristine, post-kosmische sounds to float away to. During two intense weeks in Berlin, Thorsten Quaeschning and Ulrich Schnauss locked themselves in a studio full of vintage synthesizers, analog sequencers, and drum machines, and the result is a gorgeous set...

Quantum Fantay are a Flemish space-rock band, who formed in the early/mid 00s and since that time have released a large handful of albums, all of which are excellent and which have propelled them into the international arena.

Coming hot on the heels of their 2015 appearance at ProgDay, this release has guitar, keyboards, bass and drums, with guests on flute, hand percussion and even mr Ozric himself, Ed Wynne!

This has four long tracks which reach the cosmic heights that this band is...

''Quartetto Borciani, one of the best Italian String Quartet, commissioned scores to Italian young composers. Compositions by Tiziano Popoli, Pierluigi Castellano, Andrea Masotti, Paolo Modugno, Vicenzo Zitello e Luigi Ceccarelli.'' [Felmay]

Excellent 27' long disc with the last Steve Reich work that I've heard that I would consider a masterpiece. "A major opus in Reichs body of work, Different Trains pioneered in 1988 a new form of composition developed from his earlier tape pieces Its Go...

A string quartet performing 4 lengthy works by 4 Montreal composers. "Moving freely from avant-garde events to traditional concerts, the Quatuor Bozzini was characterized by the Irish Times as a group which gets its teeth into music: quiet or loud, fas...

Released on Proper, a great UK label who do an amazing job in terms of packaging, presentation and especially in terms of sonics. This is important, basic repertoire material. A great place to hear some of his best stuff and at a amazing price.

I'm a big fan of Ike Quebec, one of the hugely under-rated tenor voices of all time.

"Influenced by Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster but definitely his own person, Ike Quebec was one of the finest swing-oriented tenor saxmen of the 1940s and '50s. Though maybe not as innovative as some of his peers, Quebec had a big, breathy sound that was distinctive and made him a cornerstone of many a recording session.
This set features the Blue Note albums Heavy Soul (1962), It Might As Well Be Spring...

This Italian band released their 2nd of two albums in 1974. This features keyboards, guitars, vocals/flute, violin, bass and drums. Definitely in the symphonic/classical vein, with a touch of fusion as well, this has been compared to early P.F.M., & th...

"Qui is the brainchild of Japanese guitarist Takashi Hayashi, who assembled an instrumental jazz-rock fusion band with progressive rock leanings. The trio included, guitar, bass, drums and some keyboards parts. After having released a first album...

“This Feb 4th 1967 concert finds QMS in good form, evolving into the band that produced 2 fine albums over the next 2 years. Still a five piece, still plenty of R&B covers, Cippolina is in fine form and rest of the band's advancing musicianship seems to have left Murrays vocals behind.
In about two thirds of this performance, the band sound like the four-piece they would become later that year when Murray departed. The guitar work is not quite up to the standard of '68 QMS, but it's close...

“This is the highly charged early version of the band, jamming and playing good rhythm & blues with a psych twist - John Cippolina, Gary Duncan, Greg Elmore, one of the greatest rock voices in David Freiberg, and the soon to depart Jimmy Murray. Not a bad QMS live archive live recording overall.
The sound quality is hardly pristine, although it is presented in quite listenable mono, and the two guitars of Cipollina and Duncan are clear in the mix. However, there is nothing wrong with the sound...

"This is the first live DVD of Quidam, one of the most important bands in Polish progressive / art rock. It features an 11-song performance at the Wyspianski Theatre in Poland recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. The set is a musical journey t...

"This album is Hux Records' 150th release and also our most ambitious project by far.
Quintessence came from the Ladbroke Grove scene of the late 1960's. A group of musicians who became darlings of the hippy scene and the underground press along with contemporaries Hawkwind. Quintessence played a freaky form of rock music that embraced Indian music, psychedelia and jazz. They came to public attention in 1969 when they signed to Island records, for whom they recorded three classic albums...
